LIVE THIS LIFE Trees standing stark, gaunt and leafless.
Snow lies thick, the frost, sharp as a knife,
the ground below, watching and waiting
for the next phase to begin, to burst into life.
Winters gone, here comes the spring.
Trees are waking after dark days so long,
the tooing and froing of birds building nests.
Now the blackbird begins his crystal clear song.
Tits, the Blues, the Greats, Coal ones and all,
join in the chorus, heralding the day.
Snowdrops have been glorious, gleaming and white,
now the Crocus show their beauty along the way.
Next come the Daffodils, so tall and regal,
together with Scylla with bella of vivid blue.
The Tulips join in with Forget-me-nots,
together they make a spectacular view.
Newborn lambs frolicking on grass so green.
Oh! how I love this life and the seasons,
with the different rural smells and the panoramic scene,
It's why I arise each morning.
